IISc (Indian Institute of Science) is the complete package of the
experience!
Wow! My time at IISc takes me back to those two amazing years I ever spent in my life and I must say it was and will be The best experience I ever had in my life!
I am going to share my experience in a crisp and concise manner and I would recommend (But for sure - this
is from my perspective and it is completely based of my experience!) that all should
have such an experience atleast once in their lifetime.
IISc
- Being at IISc is the most valued experience in my life
I am proud of myself that I had gotten into India’s best college! What was more important was that even my parents were proud of me!
It feels like a daydream whenever I think about IISc!
The first image that comes to my mind
when I think about IISc, is well known J.N. Tata statue, situated right in front of the iconic
place of IISc, IISc Main building.
You will feel a positive energy around this place and find it to be as welcomed stress-reliever. You
will also find yourself forgetting about your personal or study work here. It feels as if a large
hypothetical magnet exists at the main building that happens to attract all your
negative energy.
During the night, this place feels like the best place in the world!
I have spent many nights at this place, and I am happy to spend more if IISc allows me!!
Next, best experience happens to be the walk in the forest! (Minus the wild animals!!)
Yes! Yes! You read it right, I
mention a forest. The fact is, IISc roads are planned such that only the required trees are removed thus preserving the greenery and also making you feel like you are having a walk or a ride through the forest.
Ultimately you will also feel the
same way as a fellow IIScian and I do, i.e. Walking through forest!!
The above picture is what a night walk through one of the roads would look like. There are many more places like there in IISc. The above-mentioned place is situated near ‘NISARGA food center’,
in direction of IISc Main building and this was during 2 AM in the night!
Late night and Early morning walk will be your next must have experiences!
For
studious people, following is the best place to be present. It is like a treasure cave!
If someone is not studious types then...
...Then also this is a great place to visit once! (Anyway if you are fellow IIScian, then you have to sign no-dues from this place only!!)
If you ever pass through this
place, you cannot resist yourself not to go to this place.
Yes! Yes! You are correct. It is the Library named after the respected J.N Tata, it is called J. N. Tata Memorial
Library.
I would say this is not just a library, but this will become your next home in IISc!
You will find a number of students here even past midnight! And the alert bell at 2 AM will be your alarm to go to get some sleep!!

I can say that I have
spent my first two semester in the Library and during the following two semesters, due to research work I was not able to spend more time here. I would have if I could. It will be another best experience of mine at the Institute!
If you are at IISc, then the next place will be one of those places that you will value the most in your life!
The next place will be remain unforgettable! It is your own laboratory where you
will learn and the place where you will most likely spend most of your time as well.

Imagine this. You are working in your lab late in the night, you are also spending quality time with yourself…
…You are waiting for experiment to give readings for the analysis, which also happens to be the most critical part of the experiment, because based on this data only your research can move ahead...
…But staying in the laboratory for long hours is boring and tiring as well...
…You would want a break and this you would get either by roaming in the lush green campus of IISc or by pumping some energy into your body!
Your most lovable place is waiting for you!

Yes, you will have a wonderful
experience everytime you spend some time with a friend catching up over a plate of food or a drink at any one of the eatery at IISc.
Here are some of famous food places,
I would like to talk about.
The very first eatery that comes to my mind is ‘PRAKRUTHI’. It was here where I spent most of my time during the night while working in the laboratory.
It is not about the best food quality food and best food to eat…
But enjoying a warm cup of tea/ coffee with a packet of biscuit and papdi chat late in the night... much needed refreshment!!!
The next place that comes to my mind is ‘CeNSE - Center for
Nano Science and Engineering’ department’s terrace canteen. This is not a famous and full-fledged canteen but the view will leave you awestruck as you can see!.
Spend some time catching up with your best-mate and hot cup of coffee will add more value to that quality time!
There are number of other food options
available in IISc like ‘NISARGA’ canteen, ‘NESARA’ restaurant, etc. where you
are sure to make some unforgettable memories!
Even IISc mess food where
you will eat on daily basis is good. This will be a place where you will make a number of friends whom you would not meet elsewhere!
Next would be IISc
Gymkhana!
This place is awesome. You will find a number of people here, playing, exercising, walking, talking, etc. It is like a
weekend trip to any outstation!
You will find peace when you look all happy faces here! At times this place also looks like hill station!!
The most beautiful thing would be the view of WTC from the benches at IISc Gymkhana!
IISc Gymkhana is not actually Gym, it is a place on other side of the IISc building!
IISc Gymkhana has a Cricket
ground, Football ground, Basketball ground, Volleyball ground, Indoor
games building, Cafe, and lot more.
If you feel low any time, then this would be your next go-to place after J.N Tata's statue and IISc Main Building.
The only thing you must find here is joy...
Now it is time for celebrations and festivals!
If you are planning to visit IISc,
then I would suggest the best time to do so would be during a celebration.
One of the most precious and cherished moments of my life, is being present in IISc during Deepawali celebrations. Deepawali
is one of those festivals that is celebrated grandly here. Around 1500 to 2000 'Diyas' were lit, and the outcome you might as well see it here as words cannot explain it!
Other festivals are not left behind. They too are celebrated as you see in these pictures.
You will always have good experience, if you celebrate a festival with your close friends!
Every festival will be an unforgettable experience!!
Anything inside IISc will be your
best experience!

Getting into IISc is always harder!
BUT BUT BUT!!
Getting out of IISc is even harder!!!
Which means one tries very hard to get into IISc! (AGREE) But once you get into IISc, you do not want to leave the place!! (FACT)
